Lipolysis

Lipolysis is a procedure, where fat cells are selectively destroyed by lipolytic injections through the skin.

For lipolysis, our clinic uses two preparations:

  • deoxycholic acid
  • phosphatidylcholine isolated from soybeans.

How are fat cells destroyed and when will I see the results?

When a lipolytic substance is injected through the skin into adipose tissue, fat cells are destroyed and expelled from the body in the course of metabolism. The effect can be noticed in about 8 weeks, when the swelling has subsided.

In most cases, it is necessary to perform 2 or 3 procedures in every 6 to 8 weeks to achieve the final loss of fat. Lipolysis can be used to correct unevenness resulting from liposuction, smaller fat deposits in different areas, such as the face, under the chin, armpits, stomach, upper arms, knees, etc.

What is lipolysis?

The doctor marks points on the skin at approx. 1 cm intervals in the area, where you wish the fat to be removed, and performs the procedure in compliance with all safety requirements.

The lipolysis procedure causes slight pain, burning sensation and swelling in the injected area, which is a normal reaction to the injected substance and will subside in about 15 minutes.

If necessary, you can take pain medication before the procedure, or an anaesthetic cream can be applied to the injected area.
